Nestlé South Africa’s MAGGI Noodles are Manufactured Locally and Safe for Consumption

We would like to assure our South African consumers that our MAGGI Noodles, manufactured locally are absolutely safe for consumption. The quality and safety of our products are non-negotiable priorities for us. Our MAGGI 2min noodles in South Africa are manufactured locally at our MAGGI factory in Babelegi, Tshwane.Nestlé is a decentralised company and the withdrawal of MAGGI Noodles is only isolated to India.

Our raw materials, purchased only from Nestlé approved suppliers, are tested extensively before use. The finished product is released only once we have confirmed compliance to a strict array of quality and food safety criteria.

Trace amounts of lead are present in the atmosphere and in the soil and we regularly monitor all our raw materials for lead, including testing by accredited laboratories. The authorities have set limits to ensure that any lead present in a finished product are within recommended food safety levels and safe to consume. These tests have consistently shown lead in Maggi noodles to be within permissible limits.
