[Namibia] Ashinaga and NSFAF provide scholarship opportunity to orphans

Ashinaga Africa Initiative 2017 and Namibia Students Financial Assistance Fund are giving Namibian orphans the opportunity to apply for a scholarship. NSFAF is already known as an institute that assists in providing funding to Namibians that want to pursue tertiary education. Together with the non-profit organization, Ashinaga from Japan that focuses on educational and emotional support for orphans, these scholarship opportunities  will provide funding for those that qualify.

Most school leavers dream of attending University or another form of tertiary Education, yet the financial means are often not there. With NSFAF’s assistance thousands of Namibian students managed to achieve their dream and start studying. The challenges are difficult enough when you at school, with the added difficulty, heartache and challenges of being an orphan, achieving the academic dream becomes even more difficult. The Japanese  non-profit organisation, Ashinaga Africa Initiative 2017. realised this and has a programme focused totally on providing educational and emotional support to children that have been orphaned. The Ashinaga Africa Initiative mission is to contribute to Sub-Saharan Africa’s expanding role in global development by increasing access to higher education for young people. The organisation provides orphaned students with full financial support for studying at a university abroad, including tuition, accommodation, travel costs and other necessary fees. It has teamed up with NSFAF, recognised as the faciliate the awarding and smooth facilitation of these scholarships.

To apply and be considered for this scholarship opoortunity the potential recipient needs to fulfill certain criteria, but if they are successful they will be given the opportunity to study abroad. More than 95,000 oprhans in the last 45 years have already received the necessary scholarship from , Ashinaga Africa Initiative 2017. Hilya Nghiwete, Chief Executive Officer of NSFAF said; “It fills us with great pride as NSFAF that we can help faciliate the Ashinaga Africa Initiative 2017 in their pursuit to award scholarships to deserving oprhans that want passionately want to pursue tertiary education. NSFAF will assist the Ashinaga Initiative in every possible way as well as the potential scholarship recipients, however; the final decision on the awarding of the scholarship lies with the Ashinaga Africa Initiative 2017.”

The closing date for applications is February 28, 2017. This is a great opportunity to realise the dream of being able to study and contribute to Namibia as a graduate.
