Luanda to Host Singapore/Angola Business Forum

Luanda will host a Singapore/Angola business forum on Tuesday as part of the effort to boost cooperation between the two countries.

Jointly sponsored by the Angola Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Singapore Business Federation, the event will be attended by business people in the sectors of transport, construction, information and communication technologies, logistics, oil, gas and others.

The event will be attended by the Angolan minister of Economy, Abraão Gourgel, and his Singaporean colleague, Masagos Zulkifli, who is expected Monday in Luanda for the purpose.

The forum will tackle, among other matters, the law on the Private Investment Agency (ANIP), which is the Angolan entity responsible for running the national policy on private investment, its promotion, coordination and supervision.

The visit of Masagos Zulkifli follows a meeting held in April in Jakarta (Indonesia), between the Angolan vice president, Manuel Vicente, and the Singaporean prime minister, Lee Hsien Loong.

On the occasion, the two officials reaffirmed the need for reinforced cooperation between the two countries.
