International Trademarks and Patents Agency, Inventa International, opens office in Nigeria

Inventa International, a company specialised in intellectual property matters, has announced the opening of its first ever office in Nigeria.

The new office will serve as a hub of services to protect and uphold individual creativity right from registration.

It will also deal with matters such as copyright and domains, industrial designs, textiles and clothing, and reach into various other sectors including food and beverage.

The new office will be located in Lagos under the name Inventa International Nigeria, and will be staffed locally.

The Managing Partner of Inventa International, Daniel Reis, said: "Nigeria is a priority market and an exciting opportunity for us so we are very pleased to establish our physical presence with a locally staffed office in Lagos."

The company has collaborated with Silvax Legal, a leading intellectual property law firm, in a bid to expand its operation base into Africa.

Nigeria will join other countries in Africa including Mozambique, Cape Verde and Sao Tome and will be part of a global network reaching as far as America and Europe.

Angela Adebayo, Managing Director of Silvax Legal and Inventa International Nigeria highlighted the benefits such a partnership could offer Nigeria, saying: "It will bring a fusion of international expertise and local knowledge to both national and international clients seeking to protect their IP rights in Nigeria in the most cost efficient manner."

Inventa International had 100 employees and more than 200 representatives worldwide.
