Huawei help Zambia with Information and Communication Technologies Development

President of the Republic of Zambia H.E. Edgar Lungu met with Huawei Senior Vice President Mr. Dafeng Li during the visit in Shenzhen, and had a discussion about Zambian Information and Communications Technologies development in the meeting.

President H.E. Edgar Lungu said: "Huawei is a leading global ICT company, and we appreciate that Huawei helps with ICT development in Zambia. Currently, Zambia is in the early stage of ICT development, we need more advices from Huawei which has professional knowledge and rich experience, and wish Huawei to cooperate with Zambia and train more ICT talents."

Dafeng Li, senior vice president of Huawei, said: "ICT industry is an important driving force for social and economic development, Huawei is willing to share our global successful experience in ICT industry with Zambian government to promote the social and economic development in Zambia. Meanwhile, Huawei will train more ICT talents to promote the ICT development. "

After the meeting, Huawei donated the "Seeds for the Future" program to Zambia. Huawei will sponsor 10 Zambian students in 2015. These students will have the opportunity to come to China and receive training on world-leading and innovative communications technologies. They also have the opportunity to practice their knowledge in Huawei's most advanced labs. Afterwards, Zambia and Huawei signed two MOUs which witness by H.E. Edgar Lungu and Mr. Dafeng Li. The projects aim to solve the electricity and communication issues in the rural areas.
