Hannington Karuhanga appointed Airtel Uganda chairman
The Airtel Uganda managing director Anwar Soussa has appointed Hannington Karuhanga as the telco’s new chairman.
A director of Uganda Coffee Development Authority, Karuhanga has been a board member of Airtel Uganda since 2000 and has also served as the board chairman on many multinational and local companies and statutory bodies such as Uganda Railways Corporation, Savannah Commodities and Lafargeholcim.
The seasoned farmer holds a master of Business Administration from Cardiff Business School and a BA from Makerere University.
Speaking at the announcement, Anwar referred to Karuhanga as "... an experienced executive, entrepreneur, leader and captain of industry."
