[Ghana] UMB Expands Bancassurance Offering
Universal Merchant Bank (UMB), has expanded its Bancassurance offering by introducing three new insurance products - the UMB Family/Accident Insurance, the UMB Motor Insurance and the UMB Householders/Homeowners Insurance. The products, which are underwritten by Phoenix Insurance Company, were launched at an impressive ceremony held on the 24th February, 2016, at the UMB Head Office in the Airport City.
Dignitaries present at the event included Mr. S. N. K. Davor, Deputy Commissioner of Insurance, Mr. Adu Sarkodee, GCEO, CDH Financial Holdings and Mr. Sonny Heward-Mills, Managing Director of Phoenix Insurance.
In his welcome address, the Chief Executive Officer of UMB, Mr. John Awuah, stated that as a customer centric bank, UMB has over the years focused on developing products that make a real difference to the lives of customers and that the three new insurance products are a further demonstration of this fact. He further stated that UMB’s partnership with Phoenix Insurance Company is in line with the bank’s focus on becoming a financial partner to its customers rather than just a bank.
