First African sustainable development award recipient meets Bahrain premier

The recipient of this year's 'His Royal Highness H.R.H Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa Award for Sustainable Development’  former UN Habitat director Prof. Anna Tibaijuka has met Prime Minister of Bahrain who has lauded her efforts in her past role of sustainable urban development.

The premier of Bahrain His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa also reiceived a copy of the book from Prof. Tibaijuka dubbed

"Building Prosperity: Housing and Economic Development". The book tackles the crucial importance of housing in the field economic development, and highlights the best practices in this regard.

 HRH Premier lauded the efforts exerted by Anna Tibaijuka in compiling her book that embodies the rich experience she had gained through her leadership of the UN-Habitat and academic career.

 HRH the Prime Minister expressed admiration for the book that includes valuable information that can be useful in enhancing international action in the field of sustainable urban development. Anna Tibaijuka expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to HRH the Prime Minister for his unwavering support to all efforts aimed at achieving sustainable development goals.

 She also valued highly the Prime Minister's interest in appreciating every effort aiming to benefit the entire humanity.
