ECA to Host Launch of 2014 Global Go-to Think Tank Index Report
On Thursday, 22 January 2015 The UN Economic Commission for Africa will host the Launch of the 2014 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report, as one of 70 events taking place on the same day in locations around the world. The Global Go To Think Tank Index has been issued annually since 2006, as an initiative of the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Programme (TTSCP) of the University of Pennsylvania.
TTSCP's goal is to increase the profile and performance of think tanks and raise the public awareness of the important role think tanks play in governments and civil societies around the globe. The Index ranks the world's leading think tanks in a variety of categories, drawing on a panel of over 1,900 peer institutions and experts from the print and electronic media, academia, public and private donor institutions, and governments around the world. The Index is used by academics, journalists, donors and the public to locate and connect with the leading centres of public policy research around the world.
The Launch of the 2014 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report will be preceded by a panel discussion aimed at increasing the debate on the role of the Think Tanks in the policy making process.
The event will be attended by Think Tank representatives, experts, academics, donors and journalists, and will be open to the media.
Representatives of the Media are encouraged to attend the event at the United Nations Conference Centre in Addis Ababa on 22 January 2015 from 09:30 to 12:30 in Conference Room 4.
