Cadbury Nigeria Spikes Production Capacity by 37%

Cadbury Nigeria Plc has invested about N10 billion on a new manufacturing plant to meet rising demand for its prime product.

The company commissioned a new ultra-modern manufacturing plant in Lagos, which the management expects would turn around the profitability of the company.

The managing director/chief executive officer, Cadbury Nigeria, Roy Naaman, stated that the new plant would boost production capacity by nearly 37 per cent to meet surging demand for Nigeria’s favourite food-drink, Bournvita.

He said: “Our investment in this plant reflects the company’s confidence in the fundamentals of the Nigerian economy and commitment to the development of Lagos State as our host community.”

“It is this level of support from the Federal Government of Nigeria, the Lagos State Government and the availability of a talented workforce that led to the decision to build this state-of-the-art plant.”

According to him, 2015 marks 50 years of the company’s existence in Nigeria, saying the company remains committed to making high-quality products.
