CA Southern Africa roadshow brings digital transformation in the application economy to Nigeria

The CA Southern Africa roadshow, which successfully launched in Kenya and Botswana, arrived in Lagos, Nigeria on November 3, where it showcased products and solutions that fuel digital transformation and enable organisations to seize opportunities in the application economy.

"We all live in an application economy where customers are more likely to experience a brand through a software app than a person. To thrive in this new reality, developing and delivering superior user experiences that engage customers and staff is now the ultimate priority," says Carol Ann Searra, sales manager, CA Southern Africa.

"Technology is the disruptive influence driving change in the global economic landscape. This coupled with growing consumer demands has fuelled the emergence of the application economy. In this new reality – every company is a software company," says Searra.

Gary Lawrence, Managing Director, CA Southern Africa, says that regardless of the size or maturity of the market, the pressures being created by the application economy, across the globe, are tangible to executives everywhere and in every business. "These pressures translate into a need for appropriate investment, augmented by understanding how to: acquire, motivate, and retain, technical talent. This is not an easy task in the African context. In business terms, the application economy provides something of a level playing field as it promotes competition. With the right applications and technology infrastructure, African businesses will not only be able to serve their existing markets better, but also compete with international players both at home and abroad. Cloud computing and software as a service (SaaS) brings the latest technology within the grasp of even the smallest company, without the expense, delay and risk of investment," he notes.

"The CA Southern Africa roadshow aims to deliver information on the solutions available to African businesses to enable them to become part of this emerging digital world. The application economy allows companies to redefine their businesses and even their industry sectors, regardless of location. All that's needed is access to the right technology backed by the right vision.

"Africa's up-take of mobile solutions – which has enabled the continent to leapfrog to the latest communications technologies – is a real example of this principle in action. The same thing is possible in preparing for the application economy where a stable, secured and managed IT platform is the ticket to a game where the currency –  in this new economic order –  is data," says Lawrence.

CA Southern Africa has, for many years, had a strategic partnership with Nigeria based IT service provider, Signal Alliance – an end-to-end IT Company which specialises in systems integration and has offices in Lagos and Abuja FCT. This provides customers in the Nigerian market with skilled and certified consultants and domain expertise.
