Algeria, EU Ink Roadmap On Strategic Energy Agreement

Algeria and the European Union (EU) signed Tuesday in Algiers a roadmap on the implementation of the strategic energy agreement they had concluded in 2013.

The roadmap, entitled "Administrative Agreement on Operational Details of Implementation of Algeria-EU Energy Partnership," has been signed by Minister of Energy Youcef Yousfi and the European Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy Miguel Arias Canete.

Algeria and the European Union sealed their energy partnership through this document which defines the mechanisms of implementation of an energy memorandum of understanding inked in July 2013, in Algiers.

By virtue of the administrative agreement, the two sides will form working teams, made up of experts, to execute partnership projects in natural gas, electricity, renewable energies and energy efficiency.
