Airtel Madagascar partners Guanomad to assist clients develop their businesses

Airtel Madagascar has partnered with Guanomad, the largest producer of Bat Guano fertilizer in the Africa-Indian Ocean area to assist their clients develop their businesses. Launched in March this year, this successful collaboration involves the extension of the Airtel money service to Guanomad branches. The Airtel money service will also promote farmers' access to bank services through mobile banking, in line with rural development policy and support the emergence of professional business activity in the rural areas. So it was natural for both companies to take an active part in a busy event for rural professionals held at the Mahamasina stadium, August 5 - 9. Their busy booth on the first day of FIERMADA 2015 demonstrated the interest shown by primary sector players.

"With over 10 branches covering 12 regions of Madagascar and more than 200 retailers, using the Airtel money service in our business is of paramount importance. Now we need to encourage farmers to change their behaviour and help them learn to use the service," said the Guanomad MD, Erick Rajaonary.

"The Airtel money service offered at Guanomad branches is a much safer means of payment using virtual transactions. Transactions that will probably give users (farmers) and Guanomad network retailers, security and confidence," said the Airtel Madagascar MD, Maixent Bekangba.
