[Tanzania] Maendeleo Bank feted for focus on financial inclusion
Listed Maendeleo Bank has emerged winner in the Enterprise Growth Market segment of the Dar es Salam Stock Exchange for its successful focus on targeting the low income earners and playing a key role in financial inclusion.
The bank’s Managing Director Mr Ibrahim Mwangalaba said that the award is an incentive to work hard in bringing closer the banking services to reach the more people financially underserved.
“We appreciate the award and this will motivate us to grab immense opportunities due to low banking penetrations, thus contributing in speeding up financial inclusion in the country,” he said.
He added, “We need and target being the best and large bank in the country,” He said the bank deserved the award after meeting the criteria including high level of transparency, good corporate and social responsibility policy and strong management team.

We strive to provide competitive and innovative financial services to all stakeholders and the society,” he said.
