[South Africa] Limpopo spice manufacturer on mission to win over European clients

Limpopo spices manufacturer and founder of Phuti Food Manufacturing company, Mr. Phuti Lamola says that the main motivation behind the showcasing of his range of spices at the 27th edition of the Salon International de l'alimentation (SIAL) International Food Innovation Exhibition in Paris, is to establish new clients not only in France but the whole of Europe.

Phuti Food and Manufacturing is part of the 38 South African enterprises that are showcasing their products and services at SIAL that is underway in Paris, France.
Lamola says that his previous research has found that the French and South African taste buds point of view was synonymous and that he had figured out SIAL Paris as the biggest but best platform from international markets.

"I established my enterprise in 2015 as a research and development agent and new product development coordinator for a leading retail brands company. It was through my exposure and observations at my previous employment where I realized that there was a gap in which I could establish my very own spices manufacturing company. After resigning from my previous employer I did not have any tasks off fully, "Lamola said.

He adds that his ambitious journey included creating samples which he delivered to prospective clients for marketing purposes. This generated positive response which has been sent to retail stores.

In addition, Lamola says he has secured two interesting leads that he believes have a potential to turn into full orders.  "The one prospective client is from Shanghai, China and the other is from Thailand. They have both tasks samples to further interrogate and have resolved to contact beyond SIAL. The next promising lead is from a businessman who has requested quotation for a ton of spices. Details are still in the initial but I am positive that results in positive business transactions," he says.
