Land LayBy Technologies is a financial technology company currently operating in the real estate sector in Kenya. The sister Company in Melbourne, Australia subserves the same market segment.

It specialises in social impact innovations and technologies that alleviate poverty and tackle corruption. Currently, the firm has launched an Ethereum based blockchain product known as Land Layby Listing with a vision to revolutionize the manner in which land is transacted in Kenya, Ghana and other developing countries.

Strathmore Institute of Mathematical Sciences is a department of the Strathmore University, a renowned and leading private chartered educational institution in the Republic of Kenya.

Land LayBy Technologies and Strathmore Institute of Mathematical Sciences have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, with a bid to facilitate collaboration and co-operate in a partnership offering mutual benefits.

Dr Lucy Muthoni, the Head of Mathematical Finance and Lecturer at Strathmore University, and Dr Peter Tole, Director and Chief Innovation Officer of Land LayBy Technologies graced the occasion at the Land LayBy’s Head Office, on 5th floor of Valley View Office Park, in Parklands, Nairobi, Kenya

Land LayBy Technologies will work together with the institute’s research program to enable its researchers to embed themselves into Land LayBy’s Technology, study, contribute and offer constructive critique to the start-up’s ecosystems and processes.

The Strathmore Institute of Mathematical Sciences will also explore Land LayBy Holding’s processes of innovation especially the real option valuation modelling of land derivatives. Of great interest will be the collaboration to evaluate and understand the implementation of blockchain technology in the management of informal and formal land registries in developing countries.

Land LayBy Technologies shall give internship priorities to Strathmore University’s business/financial studies students who can then have an option to participate in land options pricing modelling or the blockchain land listing project.
