Ian Gibson joins as Regional Head, Private Banking, Africa, Middle East and Europe

Standard Chartered Bank has appointed Ian Gibson as Regional Head, Private Banking, Africa, Middle East and Europe, with the appointment effective mid-October 2015.

Ian brings with him over 20 years of banking experience from a variety of roles at Standard Bank. From 2008-2013, he was Global Head of their Private Clients business where he built a high net worth (HNW) business and established a presence in countries such as Kenya and Nigeria. Prior to this, Ian had responsibility as CEO of their Offshore Group, and also served as Chief Operating Officer and Finance Director. Based in London, Ian reports to Michael Benz, Global Head, Private Banking, Standard Chartered Bank.
