Ghana President teleconferences
Ghana’s President, John Atta Mills, has taken delivery of a USD3 million teleconferencing facility given by Huawei.
Communication between the Presidency and state institutions was given a major boost with the launching of a Telepresence Conference System at the Castle in Accra.
The hi-tech system allows remote, face to face interaction between the Presidency and Ministries, Department and Agencies.
Donated by Huawei Technologies in fulfillment of pledge made to the country when President Mills visited China, the USD3 million teleconferencing facility has so far been installed in eight institutions including the offices of the Regional Coordinating Councils at Tamale, Bolgatanga, Wa, Kumasi, Ho, Cape Coast and the Flagstaff House.
The President will now be able to hold meetings in live broadcast with his Regional Ministers from their respective offices, without them having to travel to Accra.
President Mills, inaugurating the system, expressed his appreciation to Huawei Technologies, indicating that it would help to speed up government business.
“Our administration is not going to be the same from today,” he said.
