CA Southern Africa offers new Cloud solutions

CA Technologies is helping simplify “cloud choice” with new and updated products and solutions for enterprises and service providers.

“We are now offering the capabilities that advance our strategy to enable cloud use and help both enterprise and service provider customers quickly deploy business services with the cost-efficiencies offered by cloud,” says Gary Lawrence, MD of CA Southern Africa.

The term “cloud choice” includes traditional, cloud and hybrid application environments. Enterprises face significant decisions about if and when to move an application to the cloud. Once the decision is made to use cloud, enterprises must then select the right type of cloud – public, private, hybrid – based on the application and its current and future requirements.

“In order to make the right cloud choice for the business, management and security must be at the forefront of the planning,” says Lawrence. “To help ensure customers are successful in their cloud initiatives, CA Technologies provides a breadth of products and solutions that support a lifecycle approach to successful cloud deployment which includes: plan, design, deliver, secure and assure.

“We address cloud choice with the concept of an IT supply chain, where organisations decide on internal and external IT resources. Today, that choice has become more complex as companies extend how they use cloud services for improved agility.

“This complexity means management and security are at the forefront of any cloud journey, particularly at the time of cloud choice. Our broad management and security portfolio gives us the ability to help our customers address the complexities around cloud choice.”

CA Southern Africa now offers new and updated products and solutions from CA Technologies for enterprises and service providers including: CA Business Service Insight 8.0, CA Automation Suite for Clouds 1.0, CA Automation Suite for Datacenters 12.5, CA Virtual Placement Manager 1.0, CA AppLogic 3.0 and CA NetQoS Unified Communications Monitor 3.2.

“As the era of cloud progresses and the choices multiply, it becomes more important than ever to ensure that management and security of cloud applications are not afterthoughts,” says Lawrence. “Without having that in place, there are too many performance and security risks.

“The advantages of moving to the cloud are many. But achieving those goals without increasing risk and introducing new layers of complexity means deploying the right cloud management technologies.”
