[Angola] ANPG, ENI announce fifth oil discovery with estimated reserves of 400 million barrels

The National Oil, Gas and Biofuel Agency (ANPG) and ENI have announced a new oil discovery in Block 15/06, in Angolan deepwater, with estimated reserves of between 300 and 400 million barrels of light oil.

With the discovery made in the Agidigbo exploration prospect, ENI brings to five the number of wells drilled successfully in Block 15/06, after Kalimba, Afoxé, Agogo, Ndungu, the latter with reserves estimated at 250 million barrels.

The discovery in the exploration prospect Agidigbo was drilled by the West Gemini probe at a water depth of 275 meters and is located 10 km southeast of the East Hub facilities of the same block and reached the total depth of three thousand and 800 meters.

In order to assess the full potential of the Agidigbo discovery, an evaluation campaign is planned for the beginning of 2020.

The ANPG and the Contractor Group of Block 15/06, consisting of ENI (operator, 36.8421%), Sonangol P & P (36.8421%) and SSI Fifteen Limited (26.3158%), will continue to work to accelerate its development technically and professionally in line with what is best done worldwide, economically and environmentally sustainable.

In Angola, ENI has an average daily production of 150 thousand barrels.
