ADvTECH confirms expansion to Tatu City in Kenya

Johannesburg Stock Exchange-listed company ADvTECH Ltd has confirmed the purchase of land at Tatu City, which will become the future home to a Crawford International School. This school will cater for all ages of students from Kindergarten to A-levels with modern facilities including boarding for senior students.

The move is part of the company's Africa expansion strategy, and further consolidates its position as the largest private education provider on the continent, with institutions ranging from nursery schools to private universities. Currently, ADvTECH's Schools Division comprises 7 brands with 90 schools across South Africa, as well as Gaborone International School in Botswana. All schools offer a well resourced, child-centered and 21st century approach to learning with its main focus on academic excellence. Just under 27,000 children are enrolled in all the campuses this year.

"ADvTECH is rapidly growing its African footprint, both in the private school and private university sector across Africa, and is delighted to find a home at Tatu City," said Head of International Development, Jaco Lotz.

The school is the second educational institution to set up at Tatu City, the rapidly developing mixed-use Special Economic Zone for over 150,000 residents outside Nairobi.

"Education is a key component of Tatu City," said Nick Langford, Kenya Country Head for Rendeavour, Tatu City's owner and developer. "To have ADvTECH, a leader in the field of education, join the Tatu family demonstrates the kind of high-quality amenities available to our residents."
