[Kenya] KOBO360 wins Best E-Logistics Platform at the Digital Tech Awards 2022

Africa’s leading e-logistics company, KOBO360 has been awarded the Best e-Logistics Platform at the Digital Tech 100 Awards 2022,for its outstanding contribution to Kenya’s logistics and supply chain ecosystem.

The event took place at the Movenpick Hotel, Kenya on Friday, 29th July 2022, convening key individuals and stakeholders in the Logistics sector as well as other pertinent associations from local to global tech businesses.

KOBO360 was among other industry participants nominated in the “Integrated e-Logistics Solutions Provider” award category for introducing technological innovations that have helped pioneer and streamline cargo transportation in Kenya.

Speaking on this award, Akinmayowa Akinfolarin, KOBO360’s Regional Manager, East Africa region said “We are elated to be recognized and awarded the best e-logistics platform, and we are inspired to further support hundreds of multinationals who entrust their cargo to us.

KOBO is powering Africa's supply chain using technology through a Global Logistics Operating System (GLOS), and creating the liquidity infrastructure required to boost trade and commerce across the region. Our goal is to simplify Africa’s logistics and supply chain.”

With over 50,000 registered truck owners on the KOBO platform, KOBO360 has been able to streamline the fragmented logistics market and help companies achieve their financial goals, boost revenue, and provide last mile delivery across Africa. KOBO360 serves over 700 businesses across Africa in various industries including FMCG, Oil & Gas, Agriculture, Maritime, and more.

In addition to leveraging technology to enhance cargo pickup and delivery, KOBO360 provides value-added services that guarantee transporters have access to discounted diesel, tires, spare parts, and working capital, allowing transporters and drivers to increase their income. Businesses using KOBO360 are also guaranteed the security and safety of cargo delivery.

KOBO360 recently announced its partnership with International Finance Corporation (IFC) to drive the innovation in cold chain storage to ensure that agricultural produce is efficiently stored while in transit. This is expected to reduce wastage and loss in Africa’s supply chain, as every year Nigeria loses between 40 to 50% of the total food produced. This is a trend across Africa. According to FAO, food losses in sub-Saharan Africa reach $4B every year.

By developing a platform that connects manufacturers and cargo owners with truck drivers, KOBO360 started its operations in 2018 to address the inefficiencies in Africa's supply chain. KOBO360 has established its physical presence in 7 African countries - Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, Kenya, Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Benin Republic.

The Digital Tech 100 Awards are renowned for honoring and recognizing the top tech companies in Kenya that are producing ground-breaking technologies.
