Terry Macharia is a founder and Managing Partner at Secvate Solutions, an information technology startup domiciled in Nairobi Kenya that has since 2018 been offering customized software solutions, cyber security consultancy and data analytics services to MSMEs in the Medical, Real Estate and Micro Finance Industries in Africa.

Secvate Solutions is Kenyan technology solutions startup that specializes in providing customized software solutions, cyber security consultancy and data analytics services to MSMEs in the Medical, Real Estate and Micro Finance Industries in Africa. It has been in operation since 2018 and was founded by Terry Macharia and Martin Tarus.
Tell us a bit about the professional backgrounds of the founders
Both founders worked for a startup named Omnis Limited. Martin was mostly a freelancer and Terry had worked with a few companies before joining the startup and later founding Secvate Solutions.
How is your company financed?
Our company is mainly financed by the revenues generated from clients and bootstrapping.
In your opinion, what are the dynamics shaping the ICT sector?
There is a lot of disruptions happening in the industry and one has to really keep up with the changes or become irrelevant.
Why did you Secvate Solutions? What opportunities did you see?
I have somehow always known that I wanted to be an entrepreneur. While Secvate Solutions is not my first go at entrepreneurship, I was part of a team that was running a company called Omnis Limited that was offering customized software solutions but we had to close the company and that was my first taste at entrepreneurship. I started Secvate Solutions because i didn't want to give up on my entrepreneurship dream despite the first failure. I also wanted to run an ethical business and be an example that one can still make ends meet by running an ethical business. In addition I also wanted to demystify the myth that IT professionals only offer solutions and but when it comes to support and after sale services they are never available. In summary I wanted to be the change I sought in my society.

We are providing customized, innovative and secure solutions that provide business intelligence in a bid to aid the decision making process.

We offer customized, innovative and secure solutions that provide business intelligence in a bid to aid the decision making process.

MSMEs in the Medical, Real Estate and Micro Finance Industries in Africa.
What does your company need in order to grow?
We need to invest in marketing. Based on our current traction we have seen that customers are happy with the products and services offering.
What is your growth strategy?
We are looking to serve the entire Africa with an initial start in East African Market
What are your plans for the coming 12 months?
Our plan is to expand to the rest of East Africa and increase our online presence.
