Vivo Energy Morocco invests in ecofriendly service stations
Vivo Energy Maroc, the company in charge of the distribution and marketing of Shell-branded fuels and lubricants in Morocco and Butagaz-branded liquefied petroleum gas, has inaugurated two motorway service stations, located in the localities of Benguerir and Ameskroud.
The official inauguration took place in the presence of Mr. George Roberts, Managing Director of Vivo Energy Maroc and Mr. Anouar Benazzouz, Managing Director of Autoroutes du Maroc. These new generation stations are equipped with eco-responsible equipment and services in line with Vivo Energy Maroc's Green Energy strategy. In total, they create no less than 50 direct jobs.
“ I would like to thank all the speakers at Autoroutes du Maroc as well as the Vivo Energy teams and other partners who contributed to the realization of this project. Our new stations have been developed taking into account as a priority the direct environmental and socio-economic impacts. Vivo Energy Maroc thus firmly maintains its commitment to its local roots as well as its positive added value in the national ecosystem,” declared George Roberts, Managing Director of Vivo Energy Maroc .
Eco-responsibility is at the heart of the design of these new Shell service stations. Photovoltaic panels covering up to 30% of the energy necessary for the operation of the station are installed. The stations are equipped with wastewater treatment and recycling units. Electric charging stations complete the fuel supply.
These new service stations are designed as real places of life. The company is keen to offer an ever-expanding range of products and services to offer its customers the best experience, while constantly adapting to their needs. A diverse range of catering is offered, notably with the fast food chain Pomme de Pain.
“Our sites are also distinguished by the increasing digitization of services and means of payment. Vivo Energy Maroc is gradually adopting the implementation of a “Web to Station” approach, making it possible to increase the number of “phygital” points of contact with its customers. This approach is not only perfectly adequate in this period of pandemic, but ideally responds to new user behaviors ” indicated Reda Badawi - Network Director of Vivo Energy Morocco .
In addition, one of the key priorities of the project was to take into account road safety, in particular that of truck drivers. A priority shared by both Autoroutes du Maroc and Vivo Energy Maroc, which has resulted in the integration of a giant parking lot in the project plans, specifically designed for heavy goods vehicles.
With 27 service stations inaugurated in 2020 despite the sanitary circumstances, Vivo Energy Maroc is continuing its investment in the Kingdom, by adopting a dynamic development policy for its network with regular openings. Vivo Energy's ambition is to become Africa's most respected energy company while meeting the most demanding international quality standards.
