Management at the Arwyp Medical Centre Private Hospital has utilised the institution’s partnership with online experts to optimise its web presence and to integrate more tightly with its internal operations.
Syncrony, a national provider of Web design, content management services and online marketing is the preferred service provider for the hospital group.
The medical facility is based in Kempton Park, Gauteng, in close proximity to O.R Tambo International Airport. It serves medical aid users and private patients in surrounding local communities, as well as visitors from abroad.
Arwyp has over fifty departments, a 24-hour fully-manned trauma unit and casualty department, as well as eleven theatres and 343 beds (including 33 ICU beds and ten neonatal ICU beds).
The institution’s website is a critical component of its operation and is used to communicate with patients and promote its service portfolio. The website also integrates with administrative functions such as patient admissions, through an online admission process that ‘talks’ directly to internal systems.
Syncrony was brought on board to transfer the benefit of its expertise in website development and its understanding of the dynamics of effective Web presence within the market. The company implemented a website that featured a fresh look and feel, with accurate and interesting content.
The new website aims to provide simplified navigation for patients and web visitors as well as to promote Arwyp’s new corporate image. Arwyp management chose Syncrony as the partner of choice because of its ability to provide a solution and implement this without impacting operations.
“Even a relatively non-critical function, such as the immediate posting of newborn photos and birth information, had to be carefully migrated in order to ensure there was no risk of downtime resulting from any modifications or changes to the site,” explains Howard Rybko, CEO, Syncrony.
“We understand that Arwyp is heavily reliant upon its website. We have worked in close consultation with management at our client in order to address the requirements and relevant challenges. The website is now live and reflects a modern, progressive institution.”
