South African Aberdare Cables seeks to supply Nigeria with quality cables and transformers
The Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape-based cables and transformers for electricity manufacturer, Aberdare Cables is seeking to supply Nigeria with quality cables and transformers at a competitive price.
This is according to the Business Development Manager for West Africa at Aberdare Cables, Mr Ndebi Nsongan speaking ahead of the Future Energy Nigeria, WAPIC Conference and Expo 2019 scheduled for 12-13 November 2019 where the company will showcase their products. Future Energy Nigeria is the leading expo and conference that connect thousands of power and energy professionals and more than 60 exhibitors.
Aberdare Cables will join a group of companies that will attend the exhibition and is funded by the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) through its Export Marketing and Investment Assistance (EMIA) Scheme.
The objective of the scheme is to develop export markets for South African products and services, and to recruit new foreign direct investment into the country. The South African delegation will be led by the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Ms Nomalungelo Gina.
“We offer quality power cables for construction and infrastructure projects, and produce transformers for electricity. Our aim is to build and grow our footprint in Nigeria like we have done in the Southern African Development Community region. The cable industry is quite big and we want to provide quality cables at a competitive price,” outlines Nsongan.
Nsongan says the mission will reinforce the relationship with the contacts they have in Nigeria and will serve as a step in the right direction towards realising the goal of setting up a satellite office in the future that will create employment opportunities.
Furthermore, Nsongan says the magnitude of the event provides them with a high level of exposure which will benefit the company. He adds that this is an opportunity for the company to explore and penetrate the Nigerian market.
