Skywise announces two key appointments

Skywise has proudly announced the appointment of Faizal Motlekar as Co-Chairperson and Tabassum Qadir as the President of the airline.

Motlekar will jointly chair the position with J. Malik, who previously shared the role with Qadir.

Motlekar is a leading South African and African entrepreneur. As the founder and chairman of Motlekar Holdings, he is well-known in the South African, African and international business circles.

He leads a multidisciplinary, independent and 100% black-owned private equity investment holding company. It has a diversified investment portfolio underpinned by a solid pursuit to make significant and measurable strides in transformation and economic justice in South Africa.

Motlekar Holdings collective insights into global business practices and its relentless quest to restore dignity amongst South Africans will motivate Skywise as it strategically continues to offer unique flying experiences.

I am bringing to Skywise my vast experience with global perspectives in South African and African investment”, says Faizal Motlekar.

Qadir takes up the role at a time of amplified debate about a female President for South Africa. Her rise to the top answers the many calls for woman to take the spotlight through leadership.

“My rise to this position comes at a time when many people in South Africa now want to have a female President,” says Tabassum Qadir.

“It’s essential for women to lead in major industries, and airlines play a key role in enhancing the growth of the domestic travel and tourism industry.”

Skywise’s vision of becoming a leading aviation industry player is shaping up as indicated by the airline bringing into its fold additional stakeholders to strengthen its position.
