Mutale Chilangwa the new Counterpart International Africa Director

Counterpart International is pleased to announce the appointment of Mutale Chilangwa as Regional Director of the Africa portfolio. Mutale brings to Counterpart more than 23 years of international development experience in economic, trade, food security, and governance issues facing both the private and public sectors. 

As Regional Director, Mutale oversees project management and performance, provides technical expertise to guide program performance, and supports new business development.

Mutale’s areas of expertise include onsite business development efforts, technical proposal writing, recruitment and management of proposal partners, and the development of overall competitive and compliant technical and financial proposals.

Before joining Counterpart, Mutale was Senior Business Development Manager at AECOM, where he oversaw business development efforts for USAID-funded opportunities for the Economic Growth, Governance and Agriculture division.  Mutale led on-site business development missions for prime bid opportunities to Guatemala,  El Salvador, and Egypt.

Previously, Mutale was the Business Development Trade Advisor at Crown Agents-USA, where he led business development efforts funded by USAID and DFID in trade, economic development, food security, public financial management, and governance.

He also headed on-site business development missions to Botswana, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Somaliland, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, United Kingdom, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
