MarketBook expands in South Africa with new office in Johannesburg
Sandhills South Africa is set to open an office location in Johannesburg. The company distributes MarketBook South Africa—a print publication and online marketplace that serves buyers and sellers of heavy machinery, agriculture equipment, and commercial trucks and trailers.
Sandhills South Africa is among a number of international group companies belonging to Sandhills Publishing, the Nebraska, USA-based tech company behind Machinery Trader, TractorHouse, Truck Paper, and AuctionTime.com.
The establishment of Sandhills South Africa comes amid a period of substantial growth, including the recent opening of offices in the Netherlands and New Zealand, and the acquisition of a number of brands across Europe. Sandhills is actively recruiting for positions not only in Johannesburg, but at offices worldwide.
Sandhills Publishing and its subsidiaries distribute print publications and operate websites that are the go-to resources for buying and selling farm and agriculture equipment, commercial trucks and trailers, plant equipment and heavy machinery, as well as parts and attachments for these assets.
Through MarketBook South Africa, Sandhills South Africa compiles and distributes print listings for equipment from dealers local to the region. The fortnightly publication is also backed by an online archive of listings (www.marketbook.co.za) from thousands of sellers, prioritizing local listings for buyers accessing the website regularly.
Over the last two years, Sandhills' subsidiaries have acquired a number of brands including: Farm & Plant Buyers Guide, MOMA Agri, agri-Business.fr, A Come Agricoltura, Farm Machinery Locator, trucks-Business.fr, Truck Buy & Sell International, Truck Locator, Transporter, Commercial Vehicle Dealer, CercoCamion.com, CamionSuperMarket, tp-Business.fr, Trasporto, TODO V.I., Resale Weekly, Plant Locator, Maquinaria OP, TrattoriSuperMarket, and Cantierissimo con Carrellistica.
Print publications representing these brands reach buyers at key distribution points in markets across Europe, the Pacific Rim, the Middle East, as well as North, South, and Central America. At the same time, local website domains featuring online listings help buyers source the equipment they need quickly and easily.
Sandhills Publishing, Sandhills East, Sandhills Italy, Sandhills Pacific, and Sandhills South Africa also build and host custom websites, and provides a number of cloud-hosted business apps and resources to dealers and manufacturers in their core industries.
These mobile-friendly added-value resources include everything from inventory management to equipment valuations and market trends powered by real-time asset and industry data. Sales reps at offices all over the world work closely with equipment sellers to implement effective sales and marketing campaigns that deliver results.
"South Africa is a crucial market for our core industries," explains Sandhills Publishing's Chief Administration Officer Nancy Paasch. "An additional office in South Africa enables us to support our already-successful products with a local staff committed to serving the evolving and dynamic needs of the buyers and sellers who rely on those products to find and transact equipment."
