GHANA: PZ Cussons Outdoors Robb Mixtures, Lozenges

PZ CUSSONS, manufacturers of Robb Liniments, has entered the pharmaceutical industry following the launch of its latest products, Robb Cough Mixtures and Robb Lozenges.

Speaking on behalf of PZ Cussons, Asante Tidianne, Marketing Manager, Personal Care said, “We are looking forward to achieving a 10 percent share of market profit after one year of production. Robb is a generic and household name. The brand is known to everybody and we believe that we can easily leverage on our strong brand heritage and actually get the market.”

He added that although the cold and flu market was competitive, we believe we have the right product, the right formulation, and the right branding to move our products forward.”

The launch, which took place during the 3rd Best Licensed Chemical Sellers Awards ceremony recently in Accra, brought together the Greater Accra Regional Branch of Ghana Licensed Chemical Sellers Association (GLSCA), members of the Pharmacy Council, other pharmaceutical companies and the general public.

The awards was sponsored by PZ Cussons, which honoured three licensed chemical sellers for their diligence in keeping their shops neat, having appropriate signboards, proper drug arrangement on shelves and good record keeping.

The prize winners were Edward Ampadu from Abeka Lapaz Zone, who received a double door fridge and a certificate, Daniel Adjetey from Madina zone; who took home a gas cooker and a certificate and Beatrice Nartey from Nima Zone who received a television set and a certificate.

Michael Kudebong, Greater Accra Regional Manager of Pharmacy Council, said it was time to celebrate excellence in medicine storage and retrieval, excellence in pharmaceutical service provision, quality in providing the appropriate ventilation and neatness in shops and personal character.

“These attributes intersect, reinforce each other in ensuring that medicines are dispensed and used appropriately,” he added.

Ida Nyanor, Assistant Brand Manager, PZ Cussons, Robb Pharmaceuticals, in a remark said: “We hope to build cordial relations that would help move PZ Cussons and GLCSA to achieve the desired vision.”
