European Investment Bank to invest €30 million in Angola SMEs

The European Investment Bank intends to provide 30 million euros of funding to support Angolan small and medium-sized enterprises, Angolan bank representative Marc Leistner has said.

In order to materialize this financing line, the process will begin with the assessment of Angolan banks, starting next October, explained the official, when speaking to Angop, at the 35th edition of the International Fair of Luanda.

Marc Leistner added that after the completion of this procedure, in 2020 begin to materialize the aforementioned financing.

He recalled that the European Investment Bank has already financed infrastructure projects in Angola and intends to work with Angolan banks to benefit small and medium-sized enterprises in Angola.

FILDA, which takes place under the motto "Energizing the private sector and promoting economic growth", has the participation of 21 countries: Portugal, Germany, Indonesia, Turkey, France, India, China, United Kingdom, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland , Israel, Brazil, Japan, Belarus, Uruguay, Macao (Special Administrative Region of China), Italy, South Africa, Netherlands and United States of America.

Products and services related to banking, telecommunications and information technologies, petroleum, transport and logistics, industry and tourism, construction, real estate brokerage, agriculture, among others were showcased at the fair.
