China reiterates financial and infrastructural support to Angola

The Chinese government will continue to provide aid to Angola, mainly in the financial and infrastructure sectors, as well as encouraging local companies to invest in Angola, especially in agriculture, culture and industry.

This was reiterated by the Chinese ambassador to Angola, Cui Aimin, during a meeting with Angolan journalists.

China is estimated to have financed US $ 23 billion for infrastructure projects in Angola by the Angolan authorities last year, quoted by the Chinese diplomat.
According to the source, the figure above may increase this year, with closer ties of cooperation between the two countries.

"An investment needs at least five to six years to manifest itself, so one must wait patiently. The arrival of Chinese companies in Angola reflects China's willingness to help this partner in all areas, "he said.

Ambassador Cui Aimin said that in the coming years, China plans to invest more in the areas of industry in Angola, noting that the two countries are in a period of updating and readjustment of their relations, with good results so far.

At the occasion, he expressed the hope that the social situation in Angola will remain stable.

He also said he was confident in the next phase of bilateral relations between the two states and peoples, judging by the ongoing reforms carried out by President João Lourenço.

Concerning the Sino-Angolan cooperation, Cui Aimin stressed that 2018 was "very good" for the re-launch of bilateral relations, recalling, in particular, some cultural achievements, such as the 1st Cycle of Chinese Cinema in Angola, and a photographic exhibition .

The diplomat also highlighted the participation of Angolan statesman João Lourenço that same year at the 3rd Summit of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum, followed by a state visit to China.

At the Beijing Summit, he said, Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed the initiative of eight of his Government's actions, including China's diplomatic policy towards Africa, non-interference in the internal affairs of the continent and non-imposition of conditions trade policies.

Cui Aimin recalled that last year (2018), Chinese entrepreneurs began to invest more and more in health and agricultural infrastructure, as well as in the installation of numerous factories in Angola.
