We Are Social and Hootsuite released the newest report on the use of the internet in the world on February 15, in its Digital Report 2022. This core document explains the evolution of the habits of internet consumers, revealing that CamerounWeb remains the most visited news site in Cameroon.

The site Camerounweb.com has sealed its leadership in Cameroon. With nearly 10 million monthly page views on average, CamerounWeb is the first news site most visited in Cameroon, far ahead of its competitors who do not appear in the Top 20 published in the report.

On the whole, CamerounWeb is the most visited website in Cameroon. It is ranked just behind Google.com, Youtube.com and Facebook.com. The media outlet outperformed web giants like Yahoo.com (6th), Wikipedia.org (8th), and Google.com (10th).

Beyond its position as a leader in its field, CamerounWeb now stands as a powerhouse platform for advertisers targeting Cameroon and its diaspora. Indeed, Digital Report 2022 shows that internet users spend more time on Camerounweb.com (12.42 minutes) than on other platforms like Alibaba.com (10 min 05 seconds), Wikipedia (3 minutes) or Yahoo.com (5 minutes). Even better, the news site surpasses Facebook in terms of the number of pages that each user visits. A user who visits CamerounWeb accumulates on average 9.4 pages against the 8.5 for the giant Facebook.

"Our excellent performance confirms the efforts made over the past 8 years by our journalists who are dedicated to credible information for Cameroonians despite the economic situation and the hostility towards our journalists in the field. We remain committed to our mission and we will continue to expand this innovative project.

“We are well-positioned to achieve our 2022 goals, including the upcoming launch of CamerounWeb Reporter, an interactive and collaborative medium that will allow the blossoming of citizen journalism and the democratization of information in Cameroon," Emmanuel Vitus, CamerounWeb Editor-in-Chief said.

With a young and dynamic team spread out in the main cities of Cameroon and in the sub-regions, CameroonWeb covers Cameroonian news in all areas (politics, sports, economy, health, culture, and society, among others). The editorial staff produces an average of 100 original content per day to keep its audience informed of the latest news from Cameroon and its diaspora.

True to its vision of democratizing information in Cameroon, CamerounWeb proudly positions itself as a neutral and impartial media at the service of the population. To promote freedom of expression, the online media, since its inception in 2014, gives readers the opportunity to propose stories and opinions that are published for free.

Much more than a news website, CamerounWeb is a regularly updated encyclopedia about Cameroon in all its aspects. The site offers updated directories of hotels, restaurants, tourist sites, personalities, institutions of the Republic and others.
