Atlantic Capital Trust, LLC Announces Sponsorship of Art for Africa™ Auction in PA.

tlantic Capital Trust, LLC has announced it will sponsor the second Art for Africa™ auction showcasing leading American, Africa-American and African contemporary artists to be held on Thursday, November 17, 2011.

Funds raised will support the work of Africa Foundation, whose mission is to better the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children in South and Eastern Africa.

American artists who have donated works for the New York event include Peter Beard, Alex Katz and Alexander Calder, Julian Lethbridge, Gary Komarin, Hunt Slonem, Hank Willis Thomas, Mickalene Thomas and E.V. Day. Participating artists from Africa are Beezy Bailey, the Creative Block, Mary Sibande, Dylan Lewis, Peterson Kamwathi, Sue Williamson and Thomas Mulcaire.

“Atlantic Capital Trust, LLC supports educational, social welfare and cultural institutions around the world through its philanthropic efforts and we are pleased to continue to support the Africa Foundation,” said Mark Spencer, President and Chief Executive Officer of Atlantic Capital Trust, LLC Personal Financial Services business. "We are delighted to sponsor an event that will help better the lives of disadvantaged children in South and Eastern Africa through the powerful reach of contemporary art.”

The proceeds from the PA sale will benefit Africa Foundation’s mission of helping orphaned and vulnerable children living in some of the poorest rural communities in South and Eastern Africa. Africa Foundation funds and manages projects in education, health care, and income generation for communities in conservation areas in South Africa, with a specific focus on children orphaned and affected by HIV/AIDS.

Philanthropy is an important component of corporate social responsibility at Atlantic Capital Trust, LLC. In 2010, Atlantic Capital Trust, LLC donated approximately $1 million to nonprofit organizations worldwide. Additionally, Atlantic Capital Trust, LLC partners around the world contributed nearly 200,000 volunteer hours to non-profit and nongovernmental organizations.
