Angola seeks Chinese investment in Special Economic Zone
The potential of the Luanda-Bengo Special Economic Zone was presented to Chinese entrepreneurs from various sectors during the Angola / China Investment Forum held in the city of Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong, China.
The event served to present the potential available in the Luanda / Bengo Special Economic Zone, which has an estimated area of about 840 thousand hectares.
According to the interest manifested by some businessmen, Angola expects, this time, to receive more investments from China soon, to boost the EEZ and contribute to the diversification of the national economy.
António Henriques da Silva, chair of the Luanda / Bengo EEZ Board of Directors, said that the space is progressing in terms of installing factories, such as metal, agricultural equipment, energy, among others.
"The Luanda-Bengo Special Economic Zone has abundant mineral resources, young workforce, a good geographic location, low transportation and logistics costs, and a national consumer market estimated at about 30 million people. unique and competitive advantages, "he said.
In this forum, the investment opportunities in Angola, by the Private Investment Agency for Export (AIPEX), by the PCA of this institution, Licínio Contreiras, were also presented.
Visits to the Foshan Industrial Park, which occupies an area of 600 square kilometers, with various sectors such as biomedicine, new technologies, solar energy, glass, lighting, textiles, automobile manufacturing and assembly, household appliances, among other units verified by the Angolan delegation.
