Angola, Zambia work to eliminate double taxation

Angolan and Zambian officials are working to sign an agreement this year to end double taxation that allows for stability in business between the two countries, the Angolan Finance Minister Margaret Wanakatwe has said.

The minister, speaking after meeting Angolan Finance Minister Archer Mangueira, said the two countries want to boost cooperation between Angolan and Zambian companies in order to strengthen economic relations.

This agreement aims to increase bilateral relations in the economic, commercial and industrial spheres, as well as to develop commercial transactions for imports and exports between Angolan and Zambian companies.

As an example, he said that the resumption of air links between Luanda and Lusaka serves the interests of both peoples.

He noted that the two countries are committed to economic diversification, through partnerships and investments in air, rail and other sectors to produce goods and services.

Angola and Zambia maintain a broad common border and excellent bilateral cooperation relations at the level of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), covering the political, diplomatic, defense and security, transport, education, health, agriculture, geology and mines.
