Africa Needs the ICT Africa Summit Now

The ICT AFRICA SUMMIT is an event promoting ICT as a means to accelerate economic development in Africa under the theme “Regional Integration through ICT networks.” The summit, organized by iKapa Media, convenes December 6-8, 2010 at the CTICC (Cape Town International Conference Centre) in South Africa.

300+ high-level delegates and 50+ exhibitors are expected to take part in a well-placed agenda, which will include plenary sessions, thematic breakaway sessions, ministerial forums, and one-to-one business meetings between participants and ICT Africa Summit 2010 exhibitors.

ICT Africa Summit 2010 aims at promoting and supporting business opportunities in the sector of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in order to encourage further growth and development in African countries. “Africa needs this summit now. The successful execution of the programme will require the mobilization of a broad spectrum of resourceful actors and stakeholders both in Africa and the rest of the world.

Participating stakeholders will definitely take the ICT agenda to greater heights in terms of its focus as well as its depth,” said Rocky Kabeya, project manager of the ICT Africa Summit.

Some of the breakaway sessions that will be conducted are Green IT (chaired by Tim James, Sustainable IT managing director) and eGovernance and eLearning (led by Kasperskey Lab). And, ministerial forums will include the likes of the Ministry of Information and Civic Education of Malawi and the Ministry of Information and Communications of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
