JBIC Signs MOU with the Republic of Uganda
The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC; Governor: HAYASHI Nobumitsu) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development of the Republic of Uganda (Uganda) to promote support for structuring environmental preservation projects, taking the opportunity of the eighth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 8) held in Tunisia.
This MOU aims to support structuring projects in Uganda, with the involvement of Japanese companies, that would contribute to preserving the environment through exchanging information between JBIC and the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development of Uganda on potential opportunities for environmental preservation, including the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
As Japan's policy-based financial institution, JBIC will continue to actively support the creation of business opportunities for Japanese companies in Africa, while collaborating with governments of other countries and overseas regional development finance institutions.
