‘Choose Wellness, Choose Nestlé’ campaign launched in Central and West Africa

Nestlé in Central and West Africa has launched its ‘Choose Wellness, Choose Nestlé’ campaign to raise awareness about the company’s nutrition, health and wellness impact in the region.

The new six-week campaign looks to provide Africans with insight about how Nestlé is playing an important part in their daily lives through its brands, products and services.

The company is also aiming to provide information and education to promote healthy diets and lifestyles.

This year, it is focusing on the theme of ‘I Choose Wellness for my Family’ by highlighting the benefits of eating breakfast and how Nestlé brands contribute to providing a nutritious, balanced and healthy meal to kick-start the morning.

In the Central and West Africa region (CWAR), breakfast is not usually considered to be the main meal of the day.

But according to health authorities and associations, it has been suggested that people, especially children, should obtain about 20-30% of their daily energy intake at breakfast.

By missing breakfast, or having too small a portion, children may lack crucial vitamins and minerals in their diets – and feel tired and unmotivated for the day ahead.

The new campaign is being aired on the radio and has been released on social media channels such as the Nestlé Central and West Africa page as well as Nido, Maggi and Milo Facebook pages in Nigeria and Ghana.

Activities focusing on balanced and healthy nutrition are also taking place for people in Accra and Kumasi in Ghana.

As part of the campaign the company is offering free ‘bonus’ product packs to consumers.

‘Choose Wellness, Choose Nestlé’ builds on a similar campaign introduced by Nestlé CWAR last year, which provided Africans with bonus product packs for selecting healthier lifestyles and choices.
