Tunisia Export Promotion Centre in drive to strengthen digital identity of SMEs
The Tunisia Export Promotion Centre, CEPEX, has sought to empower SMEs to develop websites and strengthen their digital identity by granting subsidies through its financial support system dubbed FOPRODEX.
Speaking at the 8th “Morning of Export”, on the theme "E-commerce: boosting your exports through the Internet", Aziza Htira, CEO of CEPEX. also reported that "CEPEX has entered the digital approach, through a project of training and technical support in the field of e-commerce, within the framework of Tunisian-Italian co-operation.
"This project made it possible to train executives belonging to Tunisian public bodies supporting SMEs, including CEPEX, which has trained about 270 companies in Sousse, Sfax, Tunis, Nabeul, Beja, Gabes and Bizerte, she added.
She also recalled that in order to "increase the flow of export through the electronic channel, CEPEX and the Tunisian Post signed a partnership agreement in April. Under this agreement, a 50% reduction on the cost of mail sent abroad has been granted for Tunisian companies exporting agricultural, agri-food and artisanal products, engaged in electronic commerce ".
For his part, Moez Chakchouk, CEO of the Tunisian Post, stressed that "the strategic vision of the Tunisian Post is largely in line with this digital approach and that e-export is one of the main components of this vision".
He also said that an "e-dinar-pro platform will soon be launched to allow companies to access online payment and that a review of rates for Rapid-Post and postal parcels is also being considered".
The number of companies operating in the field of electronic commerce in Tunisia amounts to more than 1,000 in various business sectors.
More than 1.5 million transactions via the “e-dinar” and “ClicToPay” platforms of the Tunisian Post Office and “Monétique Tunisie” were registered in 2015.
