Rwanda Air announces discount for delegates attending Africa Union Forum

The upcoming 27th session of the African Union is set to bring in 3,000 delegates across Africa including 50 heads of state to Kigali Rwanda and the country’s national carrier RwandaAir has announced a special package for the delegates.

For delegates using the airline, they will enjoy a 15 per cent discount which will be valid until July 8. The caveat however is, that delegates will be required to prove that their travel is for the conference and ensure they book and pay for their tickets by July 8.

Their travel dates must be between the July 5, and July 23, with the delegates required to produce official letter of invitation by the African Union to enjoy the discounts. Aviation experts have applauded the move calling it a business opportunity for the national carrier to showcase its potential.

The move comes as cut throat competition among airlines in Africa continue to inspire innovative products that are working for the benefit of the customers. “It is all a way of winning customers. As the region’s middle class continues to grow preferring more comfortable and convenient modes of transportation, and as the region increasingly becomes a hub for conferences and business summits, airlines are being forced to get creative and smart in the way they package their rates. We will continue to see these trends in coming years,” said Athanus Leila an aviation expert.
