Nestlé Reaffirms its Commitment to the Egyptian Market on the Occasion of its 150th Anniversary

On the occasion of celebrating 150 Years globally,Nestlé in Egypt welcomed Nestlé Group CEO Mr. Paul Bulcke and Executive VicePresident of Nestlé SA, Head of the Europe, Middle East and North Africa Zone,Mr. Luis Cantarell to Egypt today. The visit comes as a strong reaffirmation ofNestle’s long-termcommitment to the Egyptian market and to Egyptian consumers. Over its longhistory in Egypt, Nestlé has grown to more than 6500 employees in 9 businessunits and 3 factories dedicated to the manufacturing of dry goods, ice creamand water products. In the past 4 years alone Nestlé has made investments, inthe Egyptian market, close to 1 Billion EGP in manufacturing & distributionfacilities, expanding its workforce and increasing its contributions to thedevelopment of local communities in the country.

Our investments and expansion plans in Egypt reflect theimportance of the market to us and our confidence is clearly highlighted by theextensive investments we have made in Egypt over the past 5 years.” said PaulBulcke, Chief Executive Officer for Nestlé. “In the last few years, we havedoubled the local workforce to reach almost 6,500 employees and invested almost1 billion EGP into manufacturing and distribution facilities in addition toskill development. We have been part of the Egyptians’ life for over 100 yearsand consider the country to offer great business and economic opportunities.”

On the occasion of the 150 Years celebration, Nestlé in Egypt has recently launched the global program‘United for Healthier Kids’ in Egypt in partnership with the Ministry of SocialSolidarity and the National Research Centre. This is a 3 year program thatfocuses on enhancing the quality of children’s lives with near-term focus onchildren from minus 9 months to 12 years of age, through healthier food &beverages, as well as information & services that will help parents raisehealthier children. The program aims to reach 75,000 students across 100schools in 2 governorates.
