[Namibia] Joe Vision Productions launches with donation of 5000 DVD’s to Schools

Joe Vision Productions (JVP) yesterday launched the Namibia Film Shop in Windhoek, at the Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre. As one of the premier film production companies in Namibia, films, documentaries and short stories are their passion. The launch of the Namibia Film Shop, as well as the handover of 5000 DVD’s to Namibian Schools is a huge step in making stories and documentaries available to the youth of Namibia that are our future. Giving people access to these productions is essential for the stories and documentaries to find an audience.

JVP has worked closely with the producers of local films to assist them to reach the wider audience and earn a living from their work. With the investment in a local DVD-duplication facility they are making locally created content available on locally produced DVD’s for the Namibian market. In conjunction with the Sea Flower Group of Companies, they are donating 5000 DVD’s to Namibian Schools for the Oshikwanyama classes. The Namibian Film Shop allows organisations and the public to buy locally made and produced films and documentaries for their staff, for their pupils or for the visitors to Namibia. Giving the directors making movies about Namibian stories a much broader footprint than before.

Joel Haikali, of JVP said; “The medium of film perfectly embodies what we stand for as it captures the harsh reality of our lives, but also the beauty, the perseverance and optimism of our people and our nation in times of adversity. JVP exists to tell these stories and now with the launch of the shop, we can make the products much more readily available to our audiences.”
