MEDx eHealthCenter To Introduce Pidgin Language for Digital Health
MEDx eHealthCenter is on the move, targeting socioeconomic groups to understand the healthcare issues on various emerging countries. One of the ways are to reach and localize itself by closing the gap in language diversities across the globe, especially the unreachable due to language barrier.

PIDGIN IS A LANGUAGE TOO!
Pidgin is a mixed of English-based and spoken local language as a lingua franca. For the many, it is also known as “brokin” that is used across many of the African countries. Academics believe that Pidgin root was from the Western African countries, emphasizing its role used in (slave) trading at the time; supported by others calling it “Guinea Coast Creole English”, natively spoken by the creoles in and around the coast. On the later days, Pidgin was inherited as a native language to mixed-race descents based in James Island, Bunce Island, Elmina castle, Cape coast castle, and Anomabu. Today, it has become one of the creoles’ languages other than the Aku in Gambia, Sierra Leone Krio, Nigerian Pidgin English, Ghanaian Pidgin English, Cameroonian Pidgin English, and Fernando Poo Creole English.
