Mango ranked in world’s top 3 airlines for June on-time arrival performance

Low-cost airline Mango was named as one of the world’s top 3 airlines in June for its in-time arrival performance. Global airline monitoring website flightview.com has ranked Mango by two and thirty six positions ahead of one of its most recent and most longstanding low cost competitors respectively.

Mango ranks second amongst airlines that operate more than 1500 flights per month and is the only African carrier listed in the top 5 world on-time arrivals list. The airline’s on-time performance on routes that it operate was 95.5%.

“Punctuality is a core value of our business,” says spokesperson Hein Kaiser. “Along with the recent installation of new seats, providing some of the best economy configuration legroom on the continent, affordable fares and wide accessibility has afforded Mango positive growth through the consistent delivery of value to our Guests.” Kaiser adds that being named as one of the top 3 airlines in the world serves to drive the airline’s ambition to maintain its record. “Mango pursues constant and never ending improvement, and we have embarked on a service-focus this year to further enhance our value proposition.”

Influential website Travelmath ranked Mango amongst the world’s top low-cost airlines in May and mid-year Mango was also awarded the Skytrax World Airlines Award as Best African Low-Cost Airline in Africa as well as recognized by the World Travel Awards as Africa’s Best Low Cost Carrier.

To date the airline has carried more than 13.5 million Guests on its fleet of 10 Boeing 737-800 aircraft to most of South Africa’s major urban areas and between Johannesburg and Zanzibar. Mango continues to operate with the lowest cost-base in the domestic aviation sector.

This year Mango celebrates 5 years of operations between Lanseria and Cape Town and in 2016 the company celebrates a decade in domestic aviation.
