Kigali Business Centre to construct 10 storey building in Rwanda

A 10 storey building is  to be constructed in Kigali, Rwanda at a cost of US$ 23.5m to help ease the congestion in the city and create adequate office and commercial space for the citizens.

The project will be developed on the space that was initially occupied by the Kigali Business Centre (KBC) and works will commence this coming August.

“The works on the multi million projects will start in August this year,” Janviere Mporanyi, the Kigali Business Centre Managing Director confirmed.

Mporanyi further said that the development will add 24,000 square metres of commercial and office space in Kigali and will be located adjacent to the Kigali Convention Centre and opposite Kigali Heights at the Kimihurura roundabout.

The new building will consist of an eight floor office space, commercial space and parking space. It will be designed according to the local and international building standards that guarantee safety for all the dwellers.

40 per cent of the funds to construct the building will be given by equity from KBC Ltd while the 60 per cent will come from a bank loan.

Currently, the city of Kigali is being challenged by a high shortage of office and commercial space but there is hope with the development of buildings like the ‘new’ KBC, Kigali Heights and the Kigali Convention Centre.
