Kenya Airways resumes Freetown flights

Kenya Airways is to resume its routine flights to Freetown on Tuesday, Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Transport and Aviation has said.A statement by the Ministry of Transport and Aviation said that the first flight was expected to arrive in Freetown from Accra, Ghana on Tuesday.

According to the statement, there will be no direct flight between Freetown and Nairobi and that it will only be between Freetown and Accra and the Sierra Leonean capital and Monrovia, Liberia.

It added that the Accra-Freetown route would operate four weekly flights.

Kenya Airways suspended flights to Freetown, Monrovia, Liberia and Conakry, Guinea due to last year’s Ebola epidemic.

Since May Kenya Airways resumed direct flights to Monrovia when Liberia was declared free from Ebola by the World Health Organization.
