Indian entrepreneurs to invest in Rwanda with focus on food processing, renewable energy and ICT

Over 200 Indian entrepreneurs have expressed interest investing in Rwanda’s various business projects including food processing, renewable energy and ICT.

This comes as a follow up of the larger project the India-Rwanda Innovation Growth Programme (IRIGP), launched between the two nations by the Ex-President Hamid Ansari earlier this year.

In this regard a 25 company delegation led by FICCI is on a visit to Rwanda. The delegation is in association with the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), Private Sector Foundation (PSF), National Industrial Research and Development Agency (NIRDA), Indian Embassy in Rwanda as well as other Chambers of Commerce & Trade Bodies in Rwanda.

During the visit the Indian technologies and innovations will be showcased at the 20th Rwanda International Trade Fair (RITF), a multi-sectoral trade event which is being organized by the Private Sector Federation (PSF) in partnership with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and East African Community Affairs (MINEACOM) at Gikondo Expo Grounds, Kigali, Rwanda.

The prime focus of the delegation’s visit to the African country would be to establish, build and develop contacts and business ideas with the local Rwandan counterparts.

Also over the course of the next few days, the delegation would also be participating in an India-Rwanda Business Forum, B2B meetings, interactions with senior government officials and industry visits.
