GreenTex Builders Provide Water Efficient Showerheads, Raise Money for School in Africa
GreenTex Builders announced this week the launch of their Help Save our Lakes, Help Save Children campaign. GreenTex partnered with Ferguson Enterprises to supply Moen WaterSense® showerheads to local homeowners, encouraging them to do their part to help conserve Austin’s water. For a $20 donation to the Cheti Sponsorship Program, a non-profit organization whose mission is to create educational opportunities for children in Tanzania, Africa, GreenTex Builder’s will deliver and install a new water efficient showerhead.
“As a green professional, I know how crucial it is to integrate resource-efficient appliances and fixtures into our daily routine,” says Cameron Ponsford, LEED® GA, Owner, GreenTex Builders. “We saw a need to support and the water conservation efforts here in Austin, and are using it at an opportunity to not only educate Austinites’ about the benefits of using water efficient fixtures, but to also help create educational futures for children around the world.”
“I could not be happier with GreenTex Builders’ campaign and support for our organization,” says Jessica Shipman, Founder, Cheti Sponsorship Program. “With almost 80% of the Tanzanian population living below the international poverty line, you can imagine how education is often not prioritized. Classrooms are more than just bricks, they’re opportunities; and GreenTex’s campaign to build classrooms gives our students the opportunity to continue their education.”
The fundraiser is currently going on through the month of August, with the deliver & install date set for September 3, 2011.
