Glo partners Kirusa to Launch InstaVoice Services in Ghana
Mobile telecommunications operator, Glo Mobile, and Kirusa, a leader in voice messaging and social media mobile apps in emerging markets, today announced the launch of InstaVoice Messaging, InstaVoice Celeb and InstaVoice Sports, on the Glo Mobile network in Ghana.
InstaVoice Celeb service allows subscribers to directly engage their favorite celebrities, share in their emotions, plans and activities on a daily basis. It enables them to follow the routine of the stars they adore. It provides a seamless flow of messages.
Using the unique voice micro blogging feature of InstaVoice Celeb, celebrities voice their emotions and share their joyous and challenging moments, allowing their fans to hear them, a better option than the fans just reading their text messages on a blog or media outlet. These messages are delivered instantly to subscribing fans, creating a 'Voice Twitter' like experience. Participating stars include some of the A-list Ghanaian superstars like Yvonne Nelson, John Dumelo, Chris Attoh, Yvonne Okoro, Eazzy, Mzbel, Deborah Vanessa, and many more.
InstaVoice Sports, on the other hand, lets subscribers connect with and get updates about their favorite soccer clubs and teams. These services are available to all Glo Ghana subscribers.
InstaVoice Sports also enable Glo subscribers to receive daily soccer updates such as team news, pre and post-match analysis and quotes of team managers as well as players. The InstaVoice Sports service, offered in partnership with goal.com, includes frequent updates about various European clubs such as Barcelona, Manchester United, and Chelsea.
InstaVoice caters to both smartphone and feature phone users, allowing all Glo subscribers to communicate with anyone across the globe, promoting universal reach. Users can send an InstaVoice message to a friend by simply dialling star (*) followed by the recipient's number to record and send a message. They can also record and send a message if a call goes unanswered or cannot be completed. Similarly, smartphones users can use the InstaVoice app to send messages to any friend, including those who don't use the app. To send a voice message using the InstaVoice app, users can press and hold the record button to record a message.
Voice SMS, missed call alerts, and text messages are delivered over the data channel to smartphone users who have the InstaVoice app, so they can view the messages as part of their chat history with their friends. Recipients who do not have the app will get the InstaVoice messages as an SMS with an embedded number. Recipients only have to click this number to listen to the message, and to reply to the message.
